Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s Comeback; Thanks to Qatar Airways, Capacity and Comfort on Prague – Doha Route Is to Increase
The modern Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on the route from Prague to Doha brings more comfortable travel and more capacity into the new year. Qatar Airways is, once again, using this aircraft for 254 passengers which operated the route before the Covid-19 pandemic. Thanks to the re-deployment of the wide-body machine, the capacity on this popular route is increased by 44 percent. The Dreamliner departs from Prague every day at 2:55 p.m., while on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays there is also a second frequency, which continues to be operated by an Airbus A320.
Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors, wholeheartedly welcomed the return of the Dreamliner at the celebration of this aircraft re-deployment. “We are glad that Qatar Airways has decided to resume the Boeing Dreamliner operation of its route to Prague. The aircraft was seen at our airport several times over the course of last year, but its regular use on the route was prevented, despite the high demand, by the global shortage of aircraft. I believe that passengers will appreciate the deployment of this wide-body aircraft on the popular route to Doha. The Dreamliner will not only provide a significant increase in capacity by almost half, which is a big advantage, for example, for connecting flights to Asia, but also higher comfort and a more convenient way of travel. Last but not least, it will strengthen the capacity of air cargo.”
Qatar Airways’ Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with a capacity of 254 seats offers a configuration featuring two classes, namely Business Class for 22 passengers and Economy Class for 232 passengers. Qatar Airways currently has a total of 30 787-8 aircraft in its fleet, which have 20 percent lower consumption and carbon dioxide emissions than other aircraft of the same category. The Dreamliner will complement the Airbus A320 with a capacity for 132 passengers in Prague, being deployed three times a week to operate the morning flight departing at 08:40 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

With Qatar Airways’ additional flights, passengers from Czech Republic and its surrounds can travel more frequently to some of the most popular destinations worldwide, including Bangkok, Manila, Shanghai, Maldives and Phuket.
