Direct Flights to China Are Available from Prague Again

Prague will, once again, have a direct connection with China. Effective 24 June, Hainan Airlines is resuming its direct route between Prague and Beijing, which the carrier will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays year-round.

"I am pleased that after long negotiations we managed to resume direct flights to China. Re-launches of long-haul routes are our long-term priority, and Asia represents a very important source market. While a record number of over 600 thousand tourists from China arrived in the Czech Republic in 2019, last year there were only 90 thousand Chinese visitors. I firmly believe that the resumed direct connection to Beijing will be just the right stimulus for the further development of inbound tourism from China. The connection to Beijing will also be a great opportunity for Czech tourists to not only explore the Chinese capital but, thanks to connecting flights, also the whole of China and Asia." Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors, said.

Starting on June 24th, 2024, Hainan Airlines will operate three flights per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays) connecting Prague and Beijing. The outbound flight departs from Prague Václav Havel International Airport at 14:00 local time, arrives at Beijing Capital International Airport at 05:20 local time the following day. The inbound flight departs from Beijing Capital International Airport at 02:30 local time and arrives at Prague Václav Havel International Airport at 06:45 local time.

“The flight tickets for the direct route are already on sale. The price for the return ticket starts under 15,000 CZK and under 65,000 CZK in business class. Hainan Airlines will operate the route with Airbus A330 with a total capacity of 260 seats in economy class and 32 seats in business class. The long-awaited regular line between Prague and Beijing not only enrich the number of routes from Prague but will also impact the price of flight tickets to Asia and beyond,” adds Josef Trejbal, CEO of Letuska.cz flight ticket portal.

Hainan Airlines currently operates over 40 international and regional passenger routes from China, including Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Haikou, Chongqing, Xi'an, Changsha, Taiyuan, Dalian, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou. In the future, Hainan Airlines will speed up the resumption and expansion of international and regional flights to meet market demand for passengers' travels.
