Young Representatives of European Rotaract Clubs Met in Prague at Beginning of 2025
One of the first conferences in Prague this year was the Rotaract European Meeting 2025, which took place from 23 to 26 January with the participation of more than 500 attendees from 37 different countries. Around 30 volunteers from the ranks of Rotaract and Rotary clubs participated in the two-year organization and execution of the event.
Representatives of the youth organization associated with the Rotary Clubs - so-called Rotaract - meet twice a year in Europe for a joint event called the Rotaract European Meeting (REM). Members of the Czech and Slovak association - or District - succeeded with their application and organized the winter meeting of 2025 in Prague.
The main part of the conference with an exhibition and workshops took place in the conference rooms of the Vienna House by Wyndham Diplomat Prague. I In addition to discussions focused on trends in Rotaract Europe member countries, in the spirit of traditions of the Rotarian movement it focused on the topics of professional development of young people, community services and social and environmental sustainability: from networking and marketing, through inclusivity and climate change to the food crisis.
The accompanying activities of REM 2025 Prague were similarly oriented, including, among other things, a sightseeing tour on a locally unique luxury T3 Coupé tram, a city walk with the social enterprise Pragulic, which employes homeless people to share their experience and stories and guide visitors through their locations, and also a workshop of making candles for retirement homes. The participants of the REM conference were the first passengers ever who had, thanks to the free of charge travel for association conventions, the opportunity to travel on Prague public transport with newly digitized tickets.
