Michelin stars arriving to Prague

Before the end of the year 2025, the highest awards in the form of Michelin stars were, traditionally, awarded in gastronomy. This time, several Czech restaurants have been added to this exceptional group, and Prague has once again confirmed its prestige. In addition, Czech gastronomy has also marked a major first place. Organizers of various events can look forward to being able to accompany their events with unique culinary experiences again.

The Czech Republic entered a new chapter when a separate Michelin Guide for the Czech Republic was published for the first time in December 2025. In various categories, Michelin awarded stars to businesses across regions to create a curated culinary map.

The very first restaurant in the whole country to be awarded two Michelin stars was Restaurant Papilio, in Vysoký Újezd, approximately 20 minutes from Prague.

Eight other restaurants were subsequently awarded one star, five of which can be visited directly in the capital. These include:

  • LEVITATE with Chef Christian Chu,
  • Italian restaurant Casa De Carli,
  • Štangl,
  • La Degustation Bohême Bourgeoise and Field also defended their current star.

Levitate attracted the attention of anonymous critics from Michelin not only with the combination of Nordic procedures with Asian spices, but also with its unusual interior and convenient location near Riegrovy sady. La Degustation Bohême Bourgeoise once again entertained with an open kitchen and pleasant service, and has thus continued to hold its star since 2012.

Casa De Carli – a family business run jointly by Italian chef Matteo De Carli and his wife Lenka Hermanová, dazzles with dishes from the chef’s native country, also prepared in the open kitchen right in front of the guests. With a variety of handmade pasta, you can choose from an admirable collection of Italian wine.

In addition to the classic red star for its modern approach to food, the Štangl restaurant also received a green star for its extraordinary emphasis on sustainability. A special Michelin Service Award awarded for the service area was then awarded to Miroslav Nosek from Field.

The official Michelin Selected Guide also mentions restaurants that have not yet received their Michelin star, but are recommended by the guide as places that are definitely worth stopping by – and not only because of the high level of cuisine and service there. In Prague, for a great gourmet experience and a luxurious Michelin-starred atmosphere, you can go with your clients, for example, to the 420 Restaurant led by Michelin-starred chef Radek Kašpárek or to the Café Imperial of Zdeněk Pohlreich. On the banks of the Vltava River, in summer, you can enjoy the scenery of Prague Castle from the restaurant of the Four Seasons hotel CottoCrudo, and from the Mlýnec Restaurant you can enjoy one of the best views of the Charles Bridge. In addition, not far from Mlýnec, you will also find V Zátiší – a sister restaurant of the Zátiší Group, which has recently undergone a complete redesign.

Another interesting category that we must not miss is Bib Gourmand, in which Michelin lists establishments where you can expect quality food at an affordable price. From Prague, seven more restaurants have joined this list, including Výčep, Dejvická 34 and the U Matěje restaurant.

Michelin is newly not limited only to stars in gastronomy. For the first time ever, the most luxurious hotels around the world were awarded, but not with stars: with Michelin keys. In the Czech Republic, a total of eleven unique hotels won the key, most of which can be found in Prague. After its reopening, the Fairmont Golden Prague Hotel was the only one to receive not one, but even two keys.

It is great to see how high a level can be achieved in the Czech environment with local ingredients. We believe that the number of establishments with excellent service, first-class cuisine and quality, which also appeals to the evaluators of the Michelin guide, will continue to increase in the future.
