Christine Vespermann, General Manager of the Sir Prague hotel, speaks about her passion for hospitality, challenging and rewarding moments, and visions for the hotel in the coming year.

Could you share a bit about your professional background and how your journey brought you to Prague? What are your thoughts on the Prague and broader Czech hospitality market today?

My career in luxury hospitality has taken me across several countries and renowned hotels, including Vier Jahreszeiten Hamburg, Hôtel du Rhône Geneva, Four Seasons Inn on the Park in London, The Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage, and the Marbella Club Hotel. Throughout my journey, I have been driven by a passion for creating places where guests feel genuinely cared for and where teams are supported to grow and excel.

One of the most meaningful highlights of my career has been the opening of Sir Prague. Introducing a design-led boutique hospitality concept to such a culturally rich city felt like a natural and exciting next step. Prague’s hospitality market is evolving quickly, with guests increasingly seeking personalized, lifestyle-driven and design-focused experiences. It is an inspiring time to be part of this transformation.

Looking back at the opening of the hotel, what were some of the most rewarding moments, and what challenges did you and your team face along the way?

Opening Sir Prague was an incredibly rewarding journey. Seeing the hotel come to life and watching the team unite with such passion and pride was truly special. The energy and dedication on opening day is something I will always remember.

Of course, there were challenges. Aligning construction timelines and coordinating between architects, and designers required flexibility and close collaboration. Bringing a strong design vision into daily operations demanded quick decisions and creative solutions. These moments ultimately strengthened the team and shaped the hotel’s identity.

How does the hotel fit within the philosophy of Sircle Collection and Design Hotels? What sets it apart in terms of concept and identity?

Sir Prague fits seamlessly within the philosophy of Sircle Collection, which centres on culture, creativity, and community. We believe a hotel should inspire, connect, and reflect its surroundings. Sir Prague embodies this belief throughout the property.

As a member of Design Hotels, we share a strong alignment in both aesthetic and values. The hotel’s authentic sense of place and distinctive identity make it a natural addition to the portfolio. The design by Linda Boronkay thoughtfully blends Prague’s Cubist, Baroque, and Gothic influences into a contemporary and emotionally engaging experience.

Sir Prague has a unique character. Could you highlight some of the property’s standout features that best represent its spirit?

Sir Prague is defined by rich textures, subtle Czech references, and contemporary design details that create a refined yet welcoming atmosphere. The hotel feels elegant, warm, and quietly confident.

Our public spaces and especially our beautiful library, are at the heart of the experience. Guests naturally gather there to enjoy a coffee, explore our curated book collection, meet friends, or simply slow down. There is a sense of comfort and connection that encourages guests to stay and feel at home. Besides our amazing restaurant, Seven North, of course.

What is your vision for the hotel in the coming year? How do you see events, cultural initiatives, and incentives shaping its role in Prague’s hospitality scene?

Looking ahead, our focus is on strengthening Sir Prague’s role as a destination for both leisure and business travelers. We aim to host intimate meetings, creative gatherings, and thoughtfully curated incentive experiences that feel personal and meaningful.

Our young and dynamic team plays a key role in this vision. Their warmth, attention to detail, and intuitive approach to hospitality help create experiences that feel sincere and memorable. At Sir Prague, we believe that thoughtful service and strong design are what truly elevate meetings, events, and cultural moments.
