In 2025, the Prague Congress Centre underwent an extensive modernization of its technical and gastronomical facilities, significantly strengthening the operational capacity of the entire venue. The reconstruction took place on the building’s second basement level – in spaces hidden from regular visitors, yet absolutely essential for the smooth running of congresses, conferences, and cultural events.

The project included the modernization of kitchen operations, the expansion of the meat preparation area, the creation of a new vegetable preparation room, and the renovation of the hot kitchen. In all affected areas, floors, lighting, and technological equipment were replaced, and modifications were made to the ventilation, water, and sewage systems. The result is a functional and technologically advanced back-of-house facility that meets current requirements for gastronomic operations in a large-capacity venue.

Construction works were carried out from May to October 2025 while the building remained fully operational. The renovation covered nearly 1,000 m² and affected 30 rooms. Total costs exceeded CZK 20 million, financed jointly by the Prague Congress Centre and Zátiší Catering, the long-term tenant of these premises.

The renovated gastronomic facilities do not serve only the needs of the Prague Congress Centre. The catering company also uses them to prepare meals for all of its event activities across its catering division, as well as for its Fresh & Tasty division, which focuses on operating employee canteens. This model significantly contributes to the efficient and long-term use of the gastronomic facilities’ capacity and enables their full operational utilization.

The video offers a look inside the newly reconstructed technical and gastronomical facilities and presents the result of an investment that creates a solid foundation for top-level service and the delivery of events of the highest standard.
