From 13 to 17 May 2026, Prague will host the prestigious 29th TAFISA World Congress – the leading international organisation for the “Sport for All” movement. The event will be held under the motto “Sport for All: Building Bridges for Inclusion, Equality, and Harmony” and is jointly organised by the Czech Sokol Organisation and the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University. Participants from across the globe will be welcomed at Tyrš House, the historic home of the Czech Sokol movement.
The central theme of the congress is bringing generations together and connecting society through physical activity. The programme includes parallel sessions dedicated to topics such as:
- The next generation of leaders in sports organisations
- Sport and climate justice
- Integration of refugees and migrants through sport
- Intergenerational connection: physical activity for seniors and children
- Urban sports projects and public space
- Sport in the digital world
The congress, organized by GUARANT International, will bring together representatives from the public and private sectors, NGOs, and government bodies from both the Czech Republic and abroad. Delegates from international organisations, including the World Health Organisation (WHO) and UNESCO, will also be in attendance. The extraordinary social significance of the congress is underscored by patronage at the highest state level – President Petr Pavel has officially granted his patronage to the event.
The TAFISA World Congress in Prague represents a unique opportunity to exchange expertise and establish new partnerships across continents. Tyrš House will open its doors to all who believe that sport and physical activity are key to a better and more cohesive society. TAFISA (The Association For International Sport for All) – the leading international organisation for the global Sport for All movement – holds its World Congress every two years. The event serves as the most important platform for knowledge exchange, research, and policy development in the field of Sport for All on a global scale.
