As part of the Ambassador Program, the Prague Convention Bureau (PCB) continues to actively participate in raising awareness of the possibilities of support for organizing international scientific congresses and conferences in Prague. In May this year, we had the opportunity to present this support at two important meetings – at the members’ meeting of the National Association of Patient Organizations (NAPO) and at the general meeting of the Czech Association of Scientific and Technical Societies (ČSVTS).
Presentation at the NAPO Members’ Meeting
On 22 May 2025, we attended the Members’ Meeting of NAPO, which brings together organizations representing patients from all over the Czech Republic. The presentation was held in cooperation with our ambassador Ing. Robert Hejzák, who thus significantly contributes to the dissemination of information about the possibilities of organizing professional events in Prague. Michaela Smetanová and Lucie Jalová presented the participants mainly with forms of support that patient organizations can use when organizing professional conferences and congresses. They also emphasized the benefits of cooperation with professional meeting organizers, who help to ensure high organizational level of these events.
Joint Presentation at General Meeting of ČSVTS
The second of the presentations took place on 29 May 2025 as part of the General Assembly of the Czech Association of Scientific and Technical Societies (ČSVTS), which brings together 67 professional societies and thousands of experts across the scientific and technical spectrum. We were invited to a joint presentation by a professional congress organizer of C-IN. This cooperation was also implemented with the Prague Congress Centre.
The participants of the General Meeting learned about the system of support that the City of Prague offers to those interested in organizing professional and scientific events through PCB. Michaela Smetanová on behalf of PCB presented specific forms of support, including advice on candidacies, promotion and the possibility of financial participation by the city. The aim of this presentation was to motivate representatives of professional societies to be more actively involved in obtaining international congresses for Prague.
“We are very pleased to have been able to share our experience with these two different, but equally important groups of experts and to offer them specific help in their candidacies for professional events. We believe that such educational activities are the key to long-term cooperation and building Prague’s reputation as a sought-after destination for international professional meetings,” adds Lucie Jalová, PCB Ambassador Program Manager.
