From 14 to 17 October 2026, the Prague Congress Centre will host the 27th World and European Congress of the International Union against Sexually Transmitted Infections (IUSTI). Hundreds of leading physicians, scientists and nurses from around the world will come to the Czech capital to share the latest knowledge and advances in the control and prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.
Founded in 1923, the International Union against Sexually Transmitted Infections (IUSTI) is the oldest international organisation in its field. It is an official non-governmental organisation with consultative status with the World Health Organisation (WHO). The Union focuses not only on the medical aspects of sexually transmitted infections, but also on their social and epidemiological dimensions. Its World Congress is therefore one of the most significant events in the field each year. The Czech Academy of Dermatovenereology (ČAVD) is also an important partner of the Prague congress.
The highly specialised scientific programme is being developed by the Local Organising Committee, the Scientific Committee, and the Executive Boards of IUSTI World and IUSTI Europe. The Presidents of the 27th IUSTI World Congress are renowned Czech dermatologist Prof. Jana Třešňák Hercogová, MD, PhD, MHA, IFAAD, and internationally recognised Australian expert Prof. Christopher Fairley, AO, MB BS, PhD.
