From June 26 to 28, 2026, the O2 arena in Libeň hosted the regional convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses, themed “Eternal Happiness”. On Sunday, more than 17,000 people participated in the program, including 10,500 who attended in person. The remaining audience tied into the program online. The event was open to the general public, and admission was free.
The convention was a milestone, marking the first time in 20 years that all of the more than 200 Czech congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses gathered together for a single event.
A Program Focused on Life Satisfaction
“Even though the program was rooted in Scriptural principles, it addressed a question that concerns us all—how to find true happiness,” said David Kulla, a spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Czech Republic. “For instance, we highlighted key lessons from the Sermon on the Mount. There, Jesus showed that happiness comes from actively building good relationships with others and from caring not only for our physical needs but also for our spiritual ones.”
Over the course of three days, a total of 37 discourses were delivered, accompanied by a variety of videos. The program also featured three episodes of the series “The Good News According to Jesus,” which brings key moments of Jesus’ life to the screen. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream was provided, which was used by thousands of people.
Made Possible by Volunteers
More than 1,900 volunteers from across the country helped prepare and run the convention. They handled everything from technical setup and logistics to program coordination and attendee services, including ushering and safety. Preparations began in early 2025 and required thousands of hours of work.
“We are incredibly grateful for the hard work of our volunteers,” Kulla noted. “And we are delighted by the warm, friendly atmosphere that filled the preparations. This was clearly enhanced by the excellent cooperation we enjoyed with the O2 arena management and all the local staff, including the stewards. We sincerely appreciate their support.”
All conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses are open to the public and free of charge. The costs of organizing these events are covered entirely by voluntary donations.
